Marlisa Martin

Marlisa has been an associate of Dinning Hunter since being called to the British Columbia Bar in early 2011. She is developing a practice in the area of litigation with a particular focus on personal injury.

Marlisa works closely with Rory Lambert and since her call to the bar they have obtained two jury awards in amounts double the offer on the table from ICBC and have successfully defended an appeal in front of the British Columbia Court of Appeal. Their most recent jury award was in excess of $1.8 million and Marlisa credits this success to teamwork but also applauds the hard work put forth by jurors, who as members of our society, weighed the evidence and awarded what was fair and just.

Marlisa hails from Churchill, Manitoba and spent most of her youth in the north. She completed her bachelors degree in Science (Honours), in Psychology and Biology, at Queen's University in 2006. She then returned to her roots, moving back to Churchill, and after a few too many winters decided to make the move to Victoria where she attended the University of Victoria and obtained a Juris Doctorate in 2010.

Marlisa is a member of the Canadian Bar Association as well as a member of the Trial Lawyers of BC. Her spare time is spent with her husband and children; camping in the summer, skiing in the winter, and going on road trips to various destinations in Canada when time permits.
