Eric J. Wagner
Eric Wagner is an associate with the firm, having joined in 2003. Eric graduated from the University of California at Berkeley, where he earned both a Bachelor's degree and Master's degree in Scandinavian languages and literatures. He obtained his law degree from the University of Alberta. Eric is a member of the British Columbia Bar and will soon be called to the Alberta Bar.
The author of the Annotated British Columbia Occupiers Liability Act, Eric is an experienced litigator, having assisted clients in a wide range of areas including personal injury, construction, labour and employment, human rights, real estate, debtor - creditor, and general commercial litigation. Eric also assists Indian Residential School survivors. He believes in a client centred and results oriented approach to litigation, where the goal is to solve the problem as quickly and efficiently as possible, whether that means going to court or negotiating over coffee.
In his pre-law life, Eric taught Norwegian at UC Berkeley, taught English in Japan, and worked as a musician, carpenter, landscaper, and ranch hand. His wide range of pre-law experience helps bring a balanced and creative approach to his work. Eric is ready, willing and able to assist you in resolving your legal problems, both large and small. He can also help you avoid future problems and keep existing small problems from getting large.
Eric has presented seminars and written articles intended for lawyers and non-lawyers. He is available to conduct seminars and write articles for clients' newsletters, magazines, and the like.
When not engaged in the practice of law, Eric enjoys spending time with his family, swimming, and generally enjoying life in this part of the world. He also practices the Japanese martial art of Aikido. Eric is fluent in Norwegian and retains a functional use of Japanese, although it has been many years since he lived in either country. He also understands and can read a number of other European languages.
