Bob Friedland
Bob Friedland is a B.A graduate of the City University of New York, an M.A graduate of the University of Wyoming and an LL.B graduate of the University of Alberta.
His four decades of experience in public life include service as:
- Director of the Alberta Human Rights Commission
- Human Rights Advisor to Malaspina University College
- Commissioner, Victoria Regional Transit Commission
- Director, South Victoria Home Care Society
- Member, Medical and Health Care Services Appeal Board
- Tribunal Chairperson, Vocational Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons Appeal Secretariat
Bob Friedland was also the first Chief Lawyer for the Nenqay Deni Yajelhtig Law Center, was a Member of the Education Committee of the British Columbia Council of Administrative Tribunals; a Barrister & Solicitor; and a Member of the Law Society of British Columbia.
Bob Friedland was first elected to Victoria City Council in 1993. He was re-elected in 1996. Prior community service in Victoria included: Member, Victoria Accord, Legislative Precinct Project Review Group; and, Director, James Bay Community Project. Mr. Friedland was also a Director of the Jewish Federation of Victoria and Vancouver Island.
