Albert Berns
Albert Berns joined Dinning Hunter & Co. as an articled student, and was called to the Bar in November 1999. Mr. Berns is counsel in criminal and general civil litigation, with a keen interest in the areas of employment, municipal and construction law.
Prior to attending the University of Victoria, Mr. Berns was employed through the Carpenters' Union and spent time working on construction projects at various locations throughout Vancouver Island and the Sunshine Coast. He majored in Political Science and History during his undergraduate studies, and received his Law Degree from the University of Victoria.
During his articles and first year of call, he was an executive member of the Canadian Bar Association's Young Lawyers subsection, and participated in the CBA-BC Entrance Exam Task Force on pre-call legal education.
Mr. Berns was born and raised on Vancouver Island. He has been a resident of Victoria for over a decade, and is interested in sports, local history and community affairs.
